Today, we turn to a challenge to New Jersey’s assault weapon ban, in the matter of Cheeseman v. Platkin. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the fact that before a 3 judge panel could rule, after hearing arguments on July 1st, the Chief Judge has ordered en banc review of this case. Oral arguemtns are now set for later this year. While nomrally, we would not be happy to hear this, when you take a closer look at what’s occurred in the 3rd Circuit recently, you might realize that this is an amazing opprtunityg not just for those in New Jersey, but on a national level as well.
