A Law to Jail Bad Politicians?

Perhaps the most common questions we get here at WGL is what can be done with all the politicians that knowingly pass unconstitutional laws, or worse yet, actually just refuse to enforce current laws? Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses one idea, that really has no chance of going anywhere, but it does bring up several good points. S. 3805, sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham, would actually hold local politicians criminally liable for refusing to comply with ICE detainer holds. Essentially, if local jurisdictions knowingly release dangerous people back into the community, the offical responsible can be found guilty of a criminal offense and jailed. But, in the spirit of full disclsoure, the likelihood that this legislation is going to go anywhere is very remote. But, let’s learn what it does so that we can all be armed with education.
