The State Poised for Gun Confiscation

You may remember that thousands of Illinois residents purchased now banned “assault weapons” during an in injunction in May of 2023. What you may not know is that may individuals and some FFLs were protected by a Temporary Restraining Order that permitted commercial sales for months. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses that now that there is case law in Illinois (Reece v. Raoul) that says those firearms which were obtained during those injunctive periods cannot be lawfully possessed inside Illinois, could the State be setting up a confisication. When you realize how easy they could accumulate the data to determine who has prohibited firearms purchased in that time frame, and couple that with Illinois’ FOID card, you realize that there is a lot they can do, and may Illiois residents may have been set up.
