Can I Carry a Loaded Gun in My Car in Washington State?

William Kirk, Washington Gun Law President, discusses the laws that dictate when and what you can carry while in your automobile or off-road vehicle. Only those possessing a valid CPL, or recognized out-of-state equivalent, can carry a handgun or pistol consistent with the requirements of RCW 9.41.050.

However, when it comes to rifles and shotguns, RCW 77.15.460, which is part of the Fish and Wildlife Code governs this area. In almost all instances, rifles and shotguns CANNOT be carried loaded in a automobile or off-road vehicle. Learn more today.
